2016 Transportation Alternatives Program Grant Recipients are Announced

2016 Transportation Alternatives Program Grant Recipients are Announced

Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grants fund non-traditional transportation projects like bicycle and pedestrian paths, preservation of historic canals, streetscaping, stormwater runoff management, and other projects “designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic and environmental aspects of the nation’s intermodal system.” TAP grants are federally funded and administered by the NJDOT in partnership with the State’s three regional planning agencies.

The NJ SRTS Resource Center provides information on TAP Grants, such as how to apply, a webinar, eligibility requirements, and a list of resources. A SRTS Regional Coordinator can also provide application assistance. Missed the deadline? Sign up for our e-mail list to be in the loop for next year’s application.

During this recent grant cycle, over $26.5 million in funding was awarded to 37 projects throughout New Jersey. The list of winners is available on the NJDOT website. The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority also issued a press release. Congratulations to all the recipients!
