Sustainable South Jersey Meetup

December 7 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Fun and Food for Free!  Enjoy light tasty snacks from a B.Good, followed by a series of ‘lightning talks’.  The widely varied talks will feature hot topics and different aspects of sustainability. Continue the discussion afterwards and meet other novice and veteran sustainability enthusiasts. The event (and food and refreshments) are FREE. Registration is encouraged on Meetup or Facebook. Sponsored by Tri-County Sustainability Alliance, Sustainable Cherry Hill, Mt Laurel Library, and Mt Laurel Green Team.

Schedule:  

6:00pm: Doors open, chat and snack.

  1. Get details of the local Black Run Nature Preserveby board member John Volpa
  2. Mt Laurel Jacob’s Chapelwas part of the underground railroad. Learn about its history and ties to sustainability by Pastor Terrell Person
  3. Food Waste Composting at Commercial and Residential settings (local operations and efforts) by by Robert Evangelista, Team Engineer, Rowan College at Burlington County.
  4. Audience “open mic” (share your passion, needs, questions, in one minute)

7:00pm: Open discussion on those topics or your own

8:00pm: Farewell
