January 2018 Sustainable Champion – Mike Ciocco
  • Mike Ciocco, Barrington’s Superintendent of Public Works, has been integral to the Borough’s sustainability accomplishments.
  • Because of his efforts, Barrington was awarded a Certificate of Environmental Stewardship by the NJDEP.
  • Mike recently assumed the role of Stormwater Management Coordinator and has done an excellent job insuring the Borough’s compliance with the program and educating staff and residents.
  • To protect local water quality, Mike headed a large project to reduce the amount of inflow and infiltration (I & I) Barrington sends to the CCMUA.
  • Furthermore, to protect water quality, he conceptualized the installation of a truck wash for public works vehicles that would utilize an underground reclamation system to capture and properly dispose of debris. This is a shared service between Barrington, Runnemede, and Mount Ephraim.
  • Mike spearheaded another project which had all Borough facilities evaluated for energy efficiency and had all necessary upgrades completed.

We are proud to recognize Mike Ciocco as our Camden County Sustainability Champion for the month of January.
