February 2018 Sustainable Champion – Mary Jo Ranieri

  • Mary Jo is a graduate of Triton Regional High School and a member of the Runnemede Green Team who has always been committed to sustainability.
  • She had a bicycle accident about two years ago and sustained serious brain injury, but wearing a helmet saved her life!
  • Because of her love for animals, she and her family are vegetarians and animal activists. She also advocates for monarch butterflies by planting milkweed, which monarchs need to survive.
  • Along with her husband John, she developed a natural weed killer. Compared to Roundup, their weed killer is safer for the environment, pets, and children.
  • A solar energy user herself, Mary Jo promotes the benefits of solar energy with her husband who has reached out solar energy companies to save money for the residents of Runnemede.
  • She and her family continue to educate others on green living and sustainability and look forward to a brighter, healthier future.

We are proud to recognize Mary Jo Ranieri as our Camden County Sustainability Champion for the month of February.
