“March Winds” – NJDEP

Wind power is defined as the generation of electricity from wind energy.

Wind is one of the most abundant sources of naturally occurring energy.

Wind Power supplies nearly 6% of our nation’s electricity demand.

A wind turbine is like the propeller of an airplane. The blades can pitch and turn according to the changes in wind direction.

Wind turbines vary in size, but large commercial models can reach up to 328 feet in height.

Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm

Opened in 2005, this is NJ’s first wind farm. It produces enough energy to power approximately 2,500 homes!
